You can delete your Bombay Institute app account, and the data kept for it, at any time.
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Open the Bombay Institute app and sign in.
- Go to Me.
- Scroll down and tap Delete my account.
- Type your password and confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away.
Option 2: ask us (if you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in)
Send an email to info@bombayinstitute.edu.in with the subject "Delete my account" and your name and the mobile number you registered with, or send a WhatsApp message to +91 9807225000 from that registered number. We will check that the request really comes from you (for an email, we may call or message the registered number) and delete the account within 30 days (usually much sooner), then confirm by reply.
What is deleted
Your name, mobile number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), board and class, every answer you gave, your tests and scores, your saved questions, your pinned exams, your daily goal and streak, and your contest entries and results.
What is not kept
Nothing about you is kept in the app's database after deletion. Regular database backups are overwritten automatically on a rolling schedule, and deleted data is not restored from them. If you want to use the app again later, you can create a new account with the same mobile number: it starts empty and the institute approves it again.
